Free Museum and Programs
MoAD will celebrate the national observance of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday as a Day of Service, providing FREE admission to the museum and programs throughout the day. Through film, art, music and dance, our special guests will help us reflect on the importance of protest, creativity and diverse communities.

Dimensions Dance Company will present a youth dance performance “The History of Dance From Africa to America,” tracing the evolution of African dance from its traditional roots to its contemporary expressions in the United States.

Art As We See It | Civil Rights Through Art and Music. MoAD docents present pairings of visual art and music of the American civil rights era with a special focus on the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This virtual program will be streaming in-person in the Salon.

For Love and Legacy screening and discussion of this short documentary on the creation of a memorial to Black Panther Huey Newton with Director A.K. Sandhu
